There are more donuts
So you might not need me now
But I still snagged one
Our dev group worked with the QA group to bring in more donuts so there’d be enough for everyone. I hope they still run out so I can continue my haikus . . .

It has been some time
Since Friday has seen us both
But I’ve not forgot
One Friday was his birthday, which he took off, and I was on vacation for the next one.
Don’t know if you’re here
But I grabbed one anyway
It’s mine if you’re not
Boy are you in luck
Everything was taken but
A filled chocolate
A donut for you
Waiting in my cubicle
Jelly filled again
Your donut is here
But it’s a jelly filled one
Your favorite was out
His favorite has chocolate frosting and a custard filling.
Here’s what he responded with:
Your kindness is thanked
I like a jelly donut
We will see you soon
The donuts are in
But you’re nowhere to be found
Goddamn 94
94 refers to I-94 in the twin cities. 94’s traffic is one of the reasons he gets in late.
Here’s the second Friday donut haiku:
Donuts are tasty
But only if you get one
Thank god you have me
We get donuts every Friday at work, and there’s usually a mad rush for them. One of my friends gets into work late since he works with a California client, so I grab one for him.
At first, I’d just send him an email letting him know, but that got boring, so I decided to send a haiku each time. Here was the first one:
Donut in my cube
That’s just waiting here alone
And it’s all for you
